Joke of the Day: CIA Claims Plame 'Covert'
A document released by the CIA this week is claiming that Valerie Plame was "covert" at the time Robert Novak mentioned her name in a 2003 column. Plame is the CIA analyst who arranged a junket for her husband, washed-up ambassador Joe Wilson to investigate an alleged attempt to obtain yellowcake uranium from Africa by the terrorist supporting regime of Saddam Hussein.
The document indicated that the agency was "taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States." This is one of the standards of the 1982 Covert Identities Act. However, the CIA does not indicate what steps it was taking and whether or not they were effective. Nor does the agency address the actions of Plame and Wilson that violated protocols to maintain any such status.
Most interesting in the report is the statement: "In October 2005, the CIA determined in its discretion, that the public interest in allowing the criminal prosecution to proceed outweighed the damage to national security that might reasonably be expected from the official disclosure of Mrs. Wilson's employment and cover status."
A few questions come to mind:
1. Long before October 2005, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald knew that Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage was the "leaker" and determined that no law had been broken with regard to the 1982 statute. Why then did the CIA believe it was in the public interest to allow a criminal prosecution to proceed in a matter that Fitzgerald knew wasn't a crime?
2. By what reasoning did the CIA come to the conclusion that the Valerie Plame Affair was worthy of criminal prosecution and the treasonous leaks to Washington Post reporter Dana Priest regarding CIA terrorist detention centers was not?
3. What was the rationale for going outside the agency to send Wilson on such a mission to Niger?
4. Why did CIA debriefers fail to get a written report from Wilson and require him to sign a non-disclosure agreement?
The sad reality is that the CIA was decimated and politicized during the 1990s to the extent that America was left virtually defenseless by the time Osama bin Laden attacked the U. S. homeland on September 11, 2001. Sandy Berger stole documents from the National Archives in order to keep evidence of the misfeasance of the Clinton administration with regard to bin Laden from the 9/11 Commission.
Read the contents of the much-ballyhooed National Intelligence Estimate from August 6, 2001. The title, "Bin Laden determined to strike inside the United States" says nothing more than that inside. There was not a single bit of information in the NIE that indicated a date, place, method or type of attack. Plame was part of the failed agency that produced that report.

Wolfie Blames Media For Downfall
Paul Wolfowitz, set to resign as president of the World Bank at the end of June blamed the media for his problems. Wolfie is only half right. While it is true that the media contributed to the poisonous atmosphere at the international financial aid institution, the genesis of the controversy came from the Left - in this case, George Soros. In such circumstances (Trent Lott, Don Imus, Jeff Gannon) the media is the vehicle by which liberals achieve the results they seek.

DNC Sued For Anti-Gay Discrimination
A former employee of the Democratic National Committee has filed a lawsuit against Chairman Howard Dean and other Democratic Party officials - for anti-gay discrimination!
![tinky240[1].jpg](http://www.jeffgannon.com/archives/tinky240[1].jpg)
No, really! Since the Old Media won't report it, NoAgenda.org delivers the story:
"According to CourthouseNews, Howard Dean and Democratic National Committee are being sued by Donald Hitchcock, who is accusing the DNC of "discrimination and retaliation on the basis of his sexual orientation, in violation of the District of Columbia Human Rights Act." Howard Dean is among those specified as "aiding and abetting" in the DNC's "discriminatory and retaliatory" treatment of Mr. Hitchcock."
This has to be another Rovian plot to force the Democratic Party to become even more beholden to the Angry Gay Left. Chance of working: 100%

Liberals' Falwell Hatefest
Now that Rev. Jerry Falwell has departed this earth, liberals across America have unleashed a river of bile usually reserved for folks like George W. Bush, Dick Cheney or Donald Rumsfeld. Much of it is being orchestrated by the Old Media that loved to hate the man.
Gay activists direct media to keep smearing him.
Washington Blade:
Thank you, Jerry Falwell (Not really "thank you", we hate you)
Huffington Post:
Falwell's Gay Legacy: Hate and Discrimination
and on and on, ad nauseum...
Falwell will have the last laugh, however, as he is in Heaven and his critics will all eventually get eternal seating in the "Smoking" section.
Ann Coulter has a great commentary on Falwell today. Pay close attention to the Teletubbies bit and put one more liberal myth in the "debunked" column.
Enjoy!

DNC Lawyers Threaten Conservative Website
The Democratic National Committee had their lawyers send a cease and desist letter to FreeRepublic.com demanding that the operators remove statements that suggested Howard Dean instructed Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sibelius to blame Bush's war in Iraq for imaginery shortages of men and equipment to clean up after a recent tornado.
Considering all of the lies and conspiracy theories the Democrats voice every day, this latest move is pathetic. The Powerline folks have dared the DNC to sue them:
"We therefore associate ourselves with our reader's statements regarding Governor Dean and invite Mr. Sandler to sue us for defamation as he threatens to sue Free Republic. This is to put him and his client on notice, however, that we intend to seek our attorney's fees under federal law for the assertion of a frivolous claim if he does so."
I am requesting that Howard Dean add me to the list of those he intends to sue. I'd go to court just for the opportunity to subpeona the DNC's telephone records to see how many times and for how long Mr. Dean talks to George Soros, Tim Russert and the American-haters of Code Pink.
Bring it on, loser!

Baltimore Official Celebrates "Hate Crime"

A billboard with the face of Rush Limbaugh is defaced in Baltimore and a city official tells a newspaper reporter, "It looks great. It did my heart good."
There's no particular outrage from the media about the hate crime against the nappy-headed radio talk show host. Perhaps that is because Limbaugh is not a member of the protected class created last week when the U. S. House passed H. R. 1592, otherwise known as the "Gays Are More Valuable People Than You" Act.

Soros' "Shadow Government" Stalks Wolfowitz
Fortunately the New Media can help to expose the egregious machinations that used to go on unnoticed and unreported in the Old Media. Evildoer George Soros is behind the jihad against World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz. The Wall Street Journal has the sickening details of the attempted coup and the network of socialists that are behind it.

AP Covering For Islamofascists (Again)
An astounding story broke this morning: 6 charged with plan to attack N.J. base
The Associated Press reported that "6 nationals from the former Yugoslavia were arrested for were arrested early Tuesday on charges they plotted to attack the Fort Dix Army base and 'kill as many soldiers as possible.'"
More astounding is the Associated Press referring to the men as being from "the former Yugoslavia." Yugoslavia was the name of the country before the fall of the Soviet Union. Now it is a confusing and bloody mess left in the aftermath of Bill Clinton's intervention in the region. Lately, this area has been a hotbed of radical Islamofascism, now being exported to the United States.
The AP doesn't want to remind anyone of Clinton's debacle in the Balkans and most certainly doesn't want anyone to know these plotters are Muslim extremists.
House Democrats will introduce a bill later today that calls for the withdrawal of troops from New Jersey by the end of the year. Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) is expected to unveil a plan to redeploy troops from Ft. Dix to Okinawa, Japan.
