NYT's ploy to scuttle PATRIOT Act
There is absolutely no coincidence that the New York Times published a story today that it admits holding for nearly a year about the President Bush authorizing the National Security Administration to conduct wiretaps without warrants. The story comes on the very day that Senate Democrats plan to filibuster renewal of the PATRIOT Act.
Let's see how many times the NYT article is cited during the debate.
Matt Drudge reports that the revelation is also timed to coincide with the publication of a book by NYT reporter James Risen that drops the same "bombshell."
